In this tutorial we will be adding colour scales to the cells within our Excel spreadsheet, this function will apply a gradient fill to our cells and help give us a better idea of where each cell sits within range of others.
To add colour scales to your Excel spreadsheet carry out the following steps.
- Highlight the cells for which you are wanting colour scales applied.
- With the cells highlighted click on the ‘Home‘ tab and then click ‘Conditional Formatting‘.
- Within the dropdown select ‘Colour Scales‘ and then select your preferred colour scheme.
Your colour scale will then be applied to your selected cells along with your selected colour gradient.
