Microsoft Excel – Highlighting cells less than

In todays post we will be highlighting cells with a value less than a given number, to do this carry out the following steps:

  1. Start by highlighting the range of cells where you are wanting test if the values are greater than a given value.
  2. Within the ‘Home‘ tab click on ‘Conditional Formatting‘ button, within the dropdown click ‘Highlight Cells Rules‘ and in the next sub menu click ‘Less Than…’
  3. A pop up window will appear where you may enter in the value that the selected cells should be less than.
  4. Once you have entered a number click ‘OK‘.

This will highlight all cells with a value less than what you had defined with a light red fill and dark red text.
